Glad it made you laugh.

Sadly you've always got to identify with some grain of truth in any humour, to hopefully make it funny.

Re: Kenneth Hargreaves MBE RIP

In this mornings Daily Express,Ann Widdecombe had some very excellent things to say about attending the funeral of Ken Hargreaves in the quaintly named Oswaldtwistle, saying what a sharp reminder of the sense of community we have all but lost. She remarked how friends and family were touched by the request that the coffin should go along the high street. People came out of shops and houses to stand to bow their heads as the coffin went by.
Yet I suspect that nobody native to Oswaldtwistle was surprised at a scene that would be unthinkable in a big city, small town or village stuffed with commuters.
She goes on to say,the haste and pressure of modern living has not yet replaced courtesy, decorum and dignity in this quiet corner of England, where traffic is held up and business suspended as the dead pass by.

Re: Kenneth Hargreaves MBE RIP

Ann spent quite a lot of time in Ossy during the time Ken was MP, and often spoke of the difference between a place like Ossy and where she hails from
