Lancashire Morning Telegraph?

At 7-0-clock this morning, todays Evening Telegraph was put through my door. As I collect my morning papers myself at 6.a.m. I thought the paper boy had made a mistake. When I saw it was todays Telegraph, I was absolutely amazed. As I hadn't even done my crozzies or sudokus yet in my morning papers, let alone read the morning news, I'm afraid I returned the Telegraph to the newsagents and informed him that I will collect my copy this evening. I didn't know that the early editions came out so early. Ah well, that off my chest, I can now continue reading the morning news.

Re: Lancashire Morning Telegraph?

I was in wh smiths this afternoon and the woman behind the desk told the customer in front of me that the evening telegraph was delivered at 6am and she was sorry that she didnt have any left. If its an evening telegraph why do they put it out so early? When I used to deliver them many years ago we sometimes had to wait for them to be delivered and that was at 4pm. A couple of times i can remember starting out at 5pm because they'd only just been delivered and I was lucky because if they were late mine was one of the first ones to be packed up because i had not so many papers but i had far to go.

From the amount of current news in it, it wouldn't suprise me if they print it a week in advance.

When I went for my papers this morning, I cancelled my Telegraph delivery, and told the vendor if I required one I would collect. I'm with you Garry, some of the stuff in it is ancient, and I can get all the local news in the Observer.

Re: Lancashire Morning Telegraph?

here, we have a once a week paper that is the tamworth herald with the front 4 and back page changed to make it atherstne herald, we spend 15 minutes reading it with a cuppa then doze off again. You lead such hectic lives up there, you should retire down to here.

Re: Lancashire Morning Telegraph?

evening telegraph in the morning ?

does this mean double the workload for morning paperboys and unemployment for the evening paperboys ?

most likely by the time teatime comes around a different drug dealer will have been caught in accy so there will be a different headline
