By the way Anne remember the owd pub on abbey street, was closed down awhile n then some bright spark re-opened it as a Topless Bar, think it only lasted 2/3 years? I reckon this Lap Dancing place will do well to last that long.

Was it the Duke of Wellington? I didn't live in Accrington then but I do remember being told about it possibly by one of my children who used to go out round Accrington and whose partners are all from Accrington.

The "Duke Of Wellington" mate, which used to be a good boozer back in early 60s, all the navvies went in n the craic was fierce.

Re: Lap Dance Club
On here we all have different opinions on sensitive subjects. I find it reassuring that-- Many of us share the same opinion that Logan is a maniac.
That said. I don't really have much of an opinion about lap dancing clubs. Simply its not the kind of place I would visit. Perhaps they should be kept in the cities

If yeh stick around restless, yeh will see that us members of this so called clique, disagree vehemently on certain things, but i can say, all will recognise a "Head The Ball" quite easily, as we all noted one on here.

Mmmm ... "Carshortan" would fit in with the rhyme scheme; but it doesn't fit well with the rhythm, the lyrical flow of the poem And, as I have always had a soft spot for the early Norton Commando, I'd like to go with 750 I don't know if she owned the Norton ... but, when she let one go, it sure sounded like one.
Meanwhile, I'm wondering how many folks on here know what we are talking about

Wondered how long it would take you to ask that. Think I'd quite like to stay in blissful ignorance...

Re: Lap Dance Club
The thread wander into rude rhymes stirs my memory of being asked by the MC, on stage at Martholme, to recite the 'Pheasant Plucker'.
I did it word perfect and then I added "I can do more" - then launched into 'Mary Hunt', also perfectly - the audience enjoyed it too.
