Last day for hunting

I saw in the news that today is the last day for hunting, but is it really?

Apparently you are allowed to send 2 dogs to flush a fox out, but then it must be shot immediately.

Not really a ban on hunting, is it???

At least when you go fishing you can eat your catch.

As Oscar Wilde said, "Hunting - the unspeakable in full pursuit of the uneatable".

Re: Last day for hunting

But isn't it a sad reflection on the way this government does business. It has taken them seven years to get this ban onto the Statute Books and in the end they had to force it through using the Parliament Act, and we end up with a piece of legislation that is so full of loopholes that it is practically meaningless and unenforcable. The guidance given to individual Police forces is to put it very low down on the list of priorities for enforcement, meaning that it is in effect a ban in name only.

What a waste of time, money and effort. More Parliamentary time has been devoted to this bill than was devoted to debating the war in Iraq - all to satisfy a noisy minority.
Although the Government hotly deny it, this is just another act in the ongoing class war that lies at the heart of the Labour party.

Too right A-B. Some Labour MPs have actually admitted that what they have against hunting is that it is "posh" people who do it, which is complete rubbish. If they ever went near a hunt, they would know different.

Just wait until we are overrun by foxes - perhaps Leo Blair will get bitten by one - see how long the hunting ban lasts then!

Shooting foxes is literally hit and miss - they usually just get wounded and die weeks later of septicaemia.
