Lazy Binmen
i live on a small cul-de-sac and every bin day sure enough all the residents put out their bins, facing the right way, on the curb etc as instructed, then about an hour before the bin wagon arrives a man who i can only describe his job as being a `fluffer`(now thats a term for you to look up!) lol, collects all the bins together and dumps them at the end of my drive totally blocking it, obviously so the hard working binmen have less ground to cover, the bins are then dumped back in front of my drive and are left there for the rest of the day. how annoying.i remember once of a day binmen had to collect the bin from where ever it was.. down you`re drive, back yard etc and they would even take black bags....wow, they are payed to move wheelie bins , i am not so i`ll be on the phone to get this obstruction moved.i know i might sound like a grumpy sod but well i suppose i am......do you`re job binmen!!

Re: Lazy Binmen
pipinfort i dont think yer a grumpy sod, had a problem with the binmen re-wheely bins,a couple of months ago, they left next doors wheely in front of mine, so i moved next doors into the back n got mine, was just putting it in the yard n a real nasty piece of work (bin man) shouted at me not to leave a bin in back, as i had intended to put it back in front of next doors, i gave him a real gobfull n said words to the effect that i was n if he didnt shut it i would, that is more grumpy i think than you could ever be.

Re: Lazy Binmen
I often have to play hunt the wheelie bin on bin day because ours can end up being left anywhere after they've emptied it.

Re: Lazy Binmen
You lot really need to get yourselves a council leader living in your neighbourhood.
As I've said many times, backed up by Neil, the collection servive in Ossy can't be faulted, and they even send a man round the next day to sweep up any stray rubbish, and bins are always returned to where they were left.

Re: Lazy Binmen
Mine isn't. I keep it by the front door of the stairwell (flats).
My bin never gets more than a quarter full, so I don't always drag it to the roadside verge for emptying, but the binman does, and then I have to drag it back, because he doesn't put it back where he got it from.
I'm not complaining - not much effort needed

Re: Lazy Binmen
It's nowhere near as hard a job as it was in the days of metal bins full of ashes which had to be lifted and tipped manually into the truck. It's a doddle these days in comparison.

What is a "kob"? I hope you meant job and not knob
How can wheeling a few bin's about be classed as hard work? It was harder work when they had black bags to carry about.

Re: Lazy Binmen
No job can ever be as hard as mining coal - which many of the last generation did.
Whenever I hear a man complain about his job I often reply 'better than working in the pit'
