Time will tell .
He has been elected as leader of Her Majesty's Most Loyal Opposition ( to use traditional terminology ) .
His task will be to lead opposition to Govenment policies where he sees fit , and to propose alternative policies . If he is effective he may become Prime Minister , when he will implement the policies he had opposed in opposition as all Prime Ministers do , exempting Margaret Thatcher .

Re: Leader of The Labour Party
Does anyone really gives a toss who is leader of the Labour Party?.. according to the Tory press Ed Miliband is some sort of left wing commie that would allow the unions to control this country.. It's all so boring because the unions have never had control of this country, and seeing as less than 30% of working people are members of any union it's rubbish... I say it don't matter who leads any political party .. the main thing is what the party proclaims to offer in a realistic way.
At present we have two once opposite parties in some sort of demolition.. the Tories that will send us down the road of slash burn destroy, whatever the economics.. and then we have the so called LIb-Dems who seem to think they have reached the promised land on the basis they have a a few nodding donkeys in the cabinet.. this Government offer nothing but five years of hardship and depression for the majority.. Ed Miliband, Ed Balls or whoever can't do a worse job than the missing Cameron or his bitch Clegg.

I think we all knew it was to late when the Tories mobbed up with the so called Lib-Dems... there is plenty left for your lot to destroy.. pensions, tax relief, minimum wages, the police, defence, ..on and on... no mention of any future for anyone in this country.. that is what I'd call slash and burn.

Things change Cashy.. this lot are about to introduce a law that more or less make them have complete power for at least five years..even in the days of Cromwell and the civil war there was no such law.. but this lot have found a way to ensure they can't be voted out within five years.. Democracy? don't make me laugh .

I wish I had your optimism Cashy.. but with the total support of the lib-dems and the media I reckon they can push any laws through...most of the "Public" have been convinced that massive cuts are the answer to a resscision that ended last year.. and they still think making over 7,00,000 redundant will help the economy .. but then there you go.

Hey the british public in general, have short memories, whilst convinced now, when the cuts really hit n they start crapping themselves, its amazing how minds soon change n forget.
