Let there be light.

I read with interest in the 'Observer that there will be a new multigame function area constructed on the Hollins College Recreation Ground.I understand that this will be a floodlit project, including an upgrade for the local playground.
It's good to see some money being spent for the kids in the Baxenden area apparently the site will be ready by August and will cater for some 350 kids between the age of 13 and 17.Let's hope all goes according to plan!

The fact is that very often money is saved by these ventures,in the long term the initial costs are surpassed by the savings in vandalism repairs to surrounding areas.
Plus parents (and the police) will have a good idea where the kids are!
I just hope that the local residents will support this and that the construction is not visually intrusive.
