Litter ....
Mcdonalds is the most litter dropped in 10 cities ... I can believe that with the amount of maccydees rubbish that lands in mine and neighbours garden.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7825339.stm
Greggs came 3rd, KFC came 4th. 2nd came unnamed from chippies and kebab shops ...

Easily solved, next time you & spugs go out and then stagger home wait until you get in before you start eating, then you can dispose of your rubbish in your own bin without having to share it!

Re: Litter ....
What a load of tosh

Keep Britain Tidy has delivered the survey to the chief executives of companies named.
It is demanding the fast food industry takes more responsibility for what happens to fast food and packaging when it is taken away from premises.
Phil Barton, Keep Britain Tidy chief executive, said: "We condemn litterers for dropping this fast food litter in the first place but also believe the results have pertinent messages for the fast food industry.
"McDonald's, the local chip shop, Greggs, KFC and Subway need to do more to discourage littering by their customers. Fast food makes up a quarter of all litter found on our streets. We want fast food chains to play a more active role in delivering an anti-litter message at the point of sale."

I think almost all of McDonalds packaging is recyclable. What does that fool think they should do, send members of staff to follow people to make sure they don't drop litter?
Maybe the Government/Council should be employing more people to catch those that litter and slap them with fines.

Re: Litter ....
Excuse me but ain't this just a tad BLOODY STUPID, it's not the firms that drop the litter its the flaming lazy people who don't give a monkey's and just throw their empty containers on the floor and not in bins or take them home, its just like blaming the council for fly tipping, its the good old British Public to blame and nobody else

Re: Litter ....
If they want to do something about it they'd provide more litter bins.
However, those that do drop the litter would most likely still not use them then.

That is a good point. There just are not enough bins on the street around me. Rhyddings Street leads from the park to Union Road and gets a lot of foot traffic because of it. I could be wrong but I don't think there are any bins on it.

Re: Litter ....
When I lived on or very near a main road, litter was more plentiful.
I think motorists throw litter out of car windows regularly

Re: Litter ....
My Father Lived near the Civic Theatre in Ossy, and at one time when the Bank was open people used to park outside his door whilst they went to the bank. I lost count of the number of times I went to my Fathers and saw pilled in the gutter, neat little heaps of fag ash and Ciggy butts, where these lazy motorist emptied their car ash trays. I actually caught one woman dumping her fag ends one day, she wasn't very impressed with my words of one syllable I related to her actions, the supercilious-cow

Re: Litter ....
I was once waiting in Rawtenstall for my son to get off the Express bus from Manchester.
I was early so was strolling along the street.
A woman parked near the cash machine, got cash, and then discarded the paper receipt on the floor. I called 'you have dropped something' and picked it up.
She said 'I don't want it'. I said 'well you're gonna have it' and put it under her wiper blade before she could drive off.

When he buys me my maccydees brekkie he brings it along the road and serves it to me in bed ... then it gets put in my bin.
Tell you what the council have done tho round here. Took the bin away from the bus stop ... and put bins along the road. When i asked why put them on the road and not at the bus stop .. was told people walking along from maccydees finish eating roundabout there ... so they put the bin there. When i said what about the ones who eat it at the bus stop .. well theres a bin just further along .....

Re: Litter ....
Though Maccydees are pretty good round here ..... after they opened and all the rubbish started appearing they sent out people to pick the rubbish up along the road.
