I'd love to live next to the houses where the kids live, but not next to mad Frank, weeing through your letter box, & torchin your car to light his fag on. lt does show how strong an extended family is. Especially when you're a single parent like Frank, & your wifes run off with a lezzer.

Re: Little Brtitain......

Speaking of the Vauxhall Tavern, did you ever see Adrella do Liza Minelli? And did you you ever witness Lily Savage and Adrella on stage together?? Laughed so much I ached.

On another tack... why do the BBC insist on repeating Only Fools and Horses at every conceivable opportunity? This has to be the un-funniest show ever made. It makes me cringe with embarrasment every time I see it.
There must be zillions of better shows in the archives. Nearest and Dearest with Hilda Baker and Jimmy Jewel was a killer. So was The Brittas Empire.

Monty Python was was very funny in it's day but is very dated now. I don't see the point in The Office either, or The Smoking Room.

Gimme Gimme is Brilliant! Little Britain is becoming repetitive. I like the surreality of The League of Gentlemen. Father Ted is too good for words.

I have just noticed that in the four pages of this thread there has not been one US sitcom mentioned. Roseanne, Will and Grace and Third Rock From the Sun. Friends is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NOT FUNNY!

Re: Little Brtitain......

Yes l saw Adrella with Lily! lt was the high- light of my week!
Yes there have been some good American comedies, when all we had here were things like Ever Decreasing Circles- well acted, safe & not very funny.
Enjoyed- Soap, Golden Girls, Roseanne, & yes Friends. Which is like comfort food, easy to go down & not to challeging to swallow. lt had Fergie in though, how funny is that!
Fools/ Horses, why is it on every week, prime time, like it's a treat for us?
Last of the Summer wine, it's been on for ever, as a pension for old hoofers, but does anyone actually like it, or has laughed @ it?

Re: Little Brtitain......

Hmmm, I forgot about Golden Girls. What about The New Statesman, and Bottom and The Young Ones? For some reason, probably due to my shattered personality, I rather like violent slapstick.

Re: Little Brtitain......

Just started over here, cant find anything funny in it, thought it was Canadian it was that bad. Got to agree with AB Python is up there as is Father Ted but current favorite is Coupling and just seen a program on Eddie Izzard that was Brilliant.

Apparently the head of a dysfunctional family in Windsor is quite fond of it. Why is it that ITV don't do comedy anymore?

Re: Little Brtitain......

I used to love the golden girls. they used to show it on Living TV all the time.... Sophia was my fave.... I am so sad As for friends, it was ok at first, but just became so un-funny later on. Roseanne was a classic and gimme gimme is hilarious... hope they do make that 3rd series.

Sex in the City was fantastic. I can still sit through the repeats on sky.

Re: Little Brtitain......

If her Majesty is approving of Last of the Summer Wine, thats the reason it's still on. Does she watch Antiques Rd. Show after, as it now clashes with Corrie for 5 mins?
