I think that the problem is with the mainstream parties ... when the BNP, starts to seem appealing to voters, it isn't so much that the BNP is getting things right (oops, accidental pun); but that the mainstream political parties are getting and doing things wrong. I can sense the frustration over there; it comes thru in a lot of posts ... a tenseness that could be pushed to extremism, and extremist solutions. There seems to be a sense that traditional values (I know that's vague, but there are fish waiting for me in the lake) are being eroded, and that the country is being sold out to people who are going to gut those values and replace them with ones that are, for wan't of a better term, un-English. I wouldn't put the big bucks on it, but I would have a little wager that the BNP, like the NSDAP a few decades ago, will start attracting support .... particularly in tough economic times.
