That's very interesting Lilly as the leaflets have been written and printed by Grahm Jones, well his firm anyway and I should imagine as Labour Leader he will have had a big input into writting them as well

Well the new way of touting for votes appears to be the telephone. Have had no leaflets and nobody at the door but just had a phone call asking for my support.

We had a leaflet off each party a few weeks ago and nothing since. Not even seen any posters etc. Still if they can't be bothered trying to tell me why I should vote for them it saves me making some effort to do it

First I've heard of phone canvassing. Still only had the one leaflet here, nobody on the doorstep as yet.

Personally don't rate phone canvassing, it could be anybody on the other end of the line.

Re: Local election candidates etc

I am still only the possessor of one election leaflet.
Certainly no phone calls or anyone on the step.
It is almost like they want us to think the election isnt happening - perhaps they do they might be better with just party members voting.

Well I was involved in politics for years and I have to say I totally agree with you Bernie, I honesly think that phone canvassing upsets more people than it gets onside, have always refused to take part in the exercise when my party was doing it, there is not substitute for face to face on the doorstep

Re: Local election candidates etc

After taking part in the process a couple of years ago I have to agree that phone calls don't really work. I reckon that by the day of the election itself most people have decided whether they're going to vote and who they're going to vote for.

Re: Local election candidates etc

I had a letter addressed to me and pushed through the door by the labour candidate outlining what issues he wants to tackle locally.

Haven't heard anything from the Lib Dem or Conservative candidates at all.
