I think that is spot on, if it was such a wonderful thing to die for their religion why is Bin Laden still alive or Captain Hook, surely if this as such a wonderful religious commitment they would have been fighting to die in the first wave of suicide bombers

Let's hope Rose West doesn't have a case of terminal piles, or she'll be the next one to walk free.

Albeit walking a little funny.

exactly

religion teaches you that your all forgiving god will either smite thee or turn you into a pilar of salt if you annoy him NOT tell you to blow planes up

oh and if you not home by midnight your coach will turn into a pumpkin..

or is that from another fairytale ?

Hmm those bread things...Its supposed to resemble bread isnt it? Its like a round of rice paper..like those 1p sheets sold in 80's I think those actually taste better than prawn crackers. But then again i havent 'been' to church since i went to that sunday school back around 1987 on cannon street or whatever its called so i dunno.... incidently the only thing i really remember about sunday school was 1) on your birthday you got sweets(ooh the incentive right?) 2) colouring and playing games and 3) Going into church and being passed polomints by the woman there at the time... i think this was supposed to take the edge off the bordom...or actually to make you look like you were singing along

and i dont get where the drinking of blood comes from. Did christ gather with his deciples and drink the blood of virgins? Or did he just have some really killer house wine

Assuming the man is guilty, of which there is a lot and I mean a lot, of evidence to the contrary. British Justice, at its best

So under that proviso you wouldn't bother sending a terminally ill person to trial in the first place, even if they are suspected terrorists, murderers, rapists, child abusers etc., because they are presumably going to die, and therefore shouldn't face justice in a criminal court?

I thought British justice was meant to be blind? Meaning we are all equal in the eyes of the law, irrespective as to individual circumstance.

Incidentally there's someone in my extended family who was diagnosed with a terminal illness, and told he had six months to live, in 1968.

Happily he's still alive today.

'After months of being at death’s door with prison guards posted at his hospital bedside, Ronnie Biggs has now discovered that five days of freedom can have a remarkable restorative effect.'

'The Great Train Robber was said last night to have made a dramatic recovery from his life-threatening pneumonia.'

Ronnie Biggs finds that freedom makes an old lag feel better - Times Online
