I thought British justice was meant to be blind? Meaning we are all equal in the eyes of the law, irrespective as to individual circumstance.
Incidentally there's someone in my extended family who was diagnosed with a terminal illness, and told he had six months to live, in 1968.
Happily he's still alive today.

Garinda I think you've got the wrong end of the stick. I was merely saying it's a stupid idea to release a known terrorist especially on grounds that he's going to die, what better time to do it again if he knows he's going to die anyway.

Well what you apparently meant isn't very clear from this post.
Reads quite clearly as a statement.
Perhaps you should refrain from posting so early until you've had your Coco Pops.

Re: Lockerbie bomber to be set free ..
It would make no sense as a pure statement. Perhaps you should note the periods which suggest a continuation of sentance.. Something Accyman managed to read clearly.

Re: Lockerbie bomber to be set free ..
So this man is a known terrorist, okay Andrew care to elaborate, Private eye and lots of rough justice groups have questioned the chain of evidence and the conviction.
Does that make the Birmingham 6 terrorists or the Famous 5 or even the Renault 4 terrorists (sorry could not help, hehehe)

Boeing I must admit I don't know all the ins and outs of the evidence surrounding this case. If the guy is innocent then justice should be saught but he should only be let out if proved innocent.. Not on the basis of his health.

Re: Lockerbie bomber to be set free ..
Okay so why let Biggs out, the guy in the observer, cannot remember the name, but he has a facebook fan page after him.....you cannot have one rule for one.
If the man had had a fair trial and all the evidence had been presented we would not be debating this.
The only thing I can see is our wonderful government are letting everyone out especially if they have a mild cold or worse.

After previous posts you've made on here, worrying more about the civil liberties of those suspected of terrorism, when the length of time they could be held without charge was up for debate, perhaps you should be more careful what you post.
Posting what you actually mean is very rewarding, at least I've always found it to be so.
Irony in pretty hard to de-cyfr (sic). Or so it seems when it's from your hand.
Biggs is a very good comparisson with the Libyan prisoner. His supporters were already preparing to use his Bigg's freedom as some sort of a precedent last weekend. The fact that he luckily didn't kill anyone is neither here nor there. He still had a sentence to serve, and was released because of health issues.
Are we now to see the likes of Peter Sutcliffe, Rose West, and Ian Brady freed if they too are diagnosed with terminal illness?

Let my jailed son come home to die - News - Accrington Observer
'The first offence against 83-year-old woman.'
'Both defendants had dozens of offences on their criminal records, including burglary. Each had offended against an elderly person in the past.'
Burglars jailed for raid on pensioner's home (From Lancashire Telegraph)
I'm afraid if you decide to take heroin, which means you then target and steal from eighty three year old ladies, if you get caught you may die in prison, and rightly so if you still have time on your sentence to serve.

Re: Lockerbie bomber to be set free ..
its a pity no one helped them die regardless of their health condition
flippin junkies wreck their own and others lives leavin a trail of victims but if by any chance they clean up their act people pat them on the back and forget about the misery they caused others :-(
