Looks Like We Have Had It
Looks like we have had the decent weather for this year(you may have blinked and missed it). Is it my imagination is everything changing? I seem to remember summers lasting longer when I was a kid. We just don't appear to have light nights for two minutes now. Am I the only one who thinks this? I know we tend to look back through rose tinted glasses but I feel that I'm seeing this as it really is. I was just wondering if anybody else felt the same!!

I feel like that too, Bernadette. Time seems to be moving faster too.

Re: Looks Like We Have Had It
I had to put the light on before 7.30pm tonight. It seems strange when not even 6 weeks ago it was 10pm before i was putting the light on. Its getting dark quicker and its getting cooler. Its coming to winter.

We've had no summer and now before you know it we'll be putting the Christmas tree up again!

I noticed when the grand-children came down to go on the computer. A couple of weeks ago I had no problem letting them walk home as it was still quite light. Earlier this week night just seemed to descend much more quickly. So the up side to it is the kids need to go home sooner and we avoid the arguements about who's turn it is on the computer . I love them really but this computer causes so many arguements

Re: Looks Like We Have Had It
Bernie - i had the same with my nephews and niece. Learnt the only way to stop any arguments was say you can play on it for 15 mins each. Any arguing every time you say disagree with what i say takes a minute off your computer time. 1 nephew was minus 10 mins before he learnt to keep his mouth shut until i was out of hearing!!! lol Oh and stick to it Bernie otherwise they'll run riot. Also they have to come off the computer bang on 15 mins - and if they dont its 5 mins off the computer time for every 1min they are over the 15 mins. One of the cooking clocks works brilliant for the timer.

Re: Looks Like We Have Had It
I think the bad weather seems to affect how quickly the nights seem to draw in. I hate winter. It's depressing.

We just don't see any proper daylight, is it my imagination or did the days seem longer when we were younger?

Re: Looks Like We Have Had It
That prospect doesn't exactly fill me with joy, I hate snow except on cards or in pictures!!!

Re: Looks Like We Have Had It
Just reading Lilly's post - christmas tree - mines in the garden i bought a live one with the roots on last year for the first time and planted it in the garden. It's still living now do i dig it up again and repot it in one of the larger pots or do i leave it and buy another or put up the plastic one i've got. Decisions, decisions. What should i do.

At one time i wouldn't have agreed with you, because at one point i would have thought dark nights came in at the same time, but now i'm not so sure! It does seem to be getting earlier. Personally I think that the seasons are shifting, it has happened in the past, way, way, way in the past but it has happened (ie.. the ice age, so why not now????)
