Love the show, hate the audience
I've put a review of Jekyll and Hide on the proper thread but I just thought I'd start this one off so that I can have a good gripe about the audience.
Why, oh why, do people talk all the way through the show?
On one side of me I had a woman who'd clearly been in the show in the past herself and so kept telling her companion what they did at certain bits.
Behind me I had three old dears who added comments like 'oh 'eck what's he gone and done now' when Jekyll swigged the potion or 'ooooo, he's back' when Hide appears for the second time. Shut up already - I can see he's back!
During another recent show I went to see, the man behind me must have munched his way through three bags of crisps in the second half!
When I watch a show I'm transported to wherever the actors are, I like to watch and absorb what's going on, not hear about someone else's experience of it. Out of respect for the actors, if nothing else, please please keep quiet. And if you can't be quiet please don't sit anywhere near me.

Re: Love the show, hate the audience
Know what you mean Gayle LOL (well, not that funny really), but comments can be heard on stage, and although creates great amusement by the players, can be very distracting.
I really think some people just can't help it, and comment involuntary .. not too bad when you are doing a comedy or pantomime (in fact expect interruption in the latter), but in a more serious piece, can break the mood.

Re: Love the show, hate the audience
Thankfully it hasn't happened to me much, though I agree, it is very annoying.
I blame television, as the actors on there don't seem to mind when you comment on their performances.

Re: Love the show, hate the audience
I think that if this is how the people of Oswaldtwistle behave, it is probably best not to put on a show in the first place.

That is rather disrespectful of the people who live in Church.

Not to mention those from Wapping.
I think Jaysay was just having a joke with Tealeaf as he has Church/Wapping on his profile.

Although Claytonender is not privy to the joke like some of us, she was just proctecting her constituents.
