Different people will cite different pieces of evidence to support their own particular take on an issue. Research is frequently flawed/skewed...rarely is it independent.

Some girl ended up in hospital few weeks back overdosing on high energy sugar drinks - not to mention all the others who end up obese from sugar they lace most ready meals with.

And in this discussion the interesting word is 'could'...as in LSD could be good for you.
That does not mean it IS good for you.
If you drink too much water even that could kill you by causing hyponatraemia(low levels of salt).

Why?
For those of us who can control their consumption, there isn't an issue.
We were told decades ago that fat was bad for us...scientists...experts told us this.....most of us listened. Now they tell us that they got it wrong and we should be eating butter not manufactured fats.
Protein is bad for us, salt is bad for us. I am fed up of the 'Nanny state' trying to influence the way we conduct our lives.
How long will it be before we go back to something like wartime rations?

People who are obese are that way because they eat too much and exercise too little.
My weight is the same at it was in the 90's...my shape has changed, but my weight is the same because I watch what I eat(I cook from scratch...using fresh foods) and am busy doing things.

If you cannot convince them.....confuse them!

If people cooked their own food...didn't rely on ready made or take away food then there would be fewer problems. Soft drinks are also consumed in large quantities.....even those sugar free drinks are bad.
The food industry has adulterated foods with chemicals.

Yes and it won't be made illegal because too much vested interest in this billion pound industry which was originally only possible because of the Slave trade - sugar was grown in the Caribean by slaves and shipped over to the UK.

Why do they put several table spoons of sugar in a shepards pie? Popcorn in the cinema though it tastes salty has about 15 teaspoons of sugar in one big carton - Heinz tomato soup has about 8 spoons in it.

Lsd may temporarily change someones thinking process but sugar also does; it makes people depressed and can cause mood swings.

I would choose sugar every time.
The reason why sugar was put into things was because 'the experts' told the general population that fat was bad for them...they told the population that they had firm evidence of this...butter was bad for you.
Taking the fat out of some things made them taste less appetising...so sugar was sustituted instead.
Now 'the experts' - those who have done studies, tell us that they got it wrong all those years ago.....it isn't fat that causes heart disease...they have firm evidence that it is sugar.
We need to reduce the sugar in our diets, we need to reduce the protein in our diets, we need to reduce the salt in our diets.
Pretty soon we are all going to be like Morty's Donkey. We will just have got used to living on nothing and then we will die.....of starvation, malnutrition - well, it would be good to die of good health would it?

I have no problem in being moderate in my diet. I can choose to have sugar,salt and protein in moderation.

And those experts who tell us that LSD may (they don't say it IS good for us)be good for us, could in twenty plonk years time find out that they were wrong too - but by then how many lives will have been ruined?

You propound the benefits or perceived benefits of drugs for your own reasons.

Whenever I boil/ roast/fry/do them in a jacket potatoes, I add plenty of salt, so far so good even though that's supposed to be bad.
I wonder would my health and perhaps attitude improve if I substituted LSD for what I enjoy?
