lucky charms

as a tangent to another thread about visiting Italy it got me to wondering what if any charms or talimans folks carry .
Myself , I have for years had a set of worrybeads from Mecca and a Holy rosary from from Sacre Coure hanging from my rearview mirror , attached to these are the poppies I buy every November (bit like an Hawaii lei) , touch wood I have allways been okay whilst driving , ...............just wondering if anyone else has a similar fetish

Re: lucky charms

Me its fishing flies that seem to be with me a lot. Not sure why but always seem to have a couple on my person even at work.Dont think its for luck mor to do with reminding me that there is always an escape to a bit of relaxation and letting of steam. THough one of them catches at least 60% of the fish so maybe it could be discribed as lucky I think.

Glad I am not the only one with this habit. Mind you compared to a sea fishing lure my trout ones are tiny. I think its because if in a bad situation it gives me something good to focus on and therefore gets me through it.

Re: lucky charms

I had no idea it was a fetish or whatever, but it seems whenever i get into my truck I 'flick' the beads hanging from my mirror before fastening my seat belt , ......#1 start the engine , flick the beads , reverse out of parking slot, then fasten seatbelt , then check if passenger/s seatbelt is fixed........even though I have all the bells and whistles (which I ignore) it seems it's a ritual I go through it unconsciousnessly, just one of my quirks

It may be a quirk in your eyes but its a safety first quirk. Once into a ritual or habit when in the house in the car etc it is hard to break.

Cool Re: lucky charms

I brought back an ‘elephant stick’ from South Africa. It seems to work because since then I have not had any marauding elephants traipsing through my garden.
