The only thing about buying British and I'm backing Britain is that our stuff is too expensive in comparison with stuff made in the Far East. I'll bet that there are not even enough manufacturers left in this country to cope with the demand if everybody bought British.
We don't seem to manufacture much anymore in this country. Most manufacturing has gone to countries with cheap labour and a lower cost of living. Can you imagine our manufacturers trying to pay a British workforce 5 quid a week and getting away with it with our standard of living.
It's all so wrong, but I feel that as a nation we have allowed our manufacturing industries to dwindle. I do try to buy British whenever I can (except wine which is usually Antipodean...)
