Let's all enjoy having a national day for the country we live in.

Did anyone see the news today about Stockport Council banning a trader from giving away red roses on St Georges Day........they say it is because the red rose is a political symbol!
And another council......(.think it might be Liverpool ) are threatening a butcher with fines of £50 for every flag of St George he puts up outside his shop.........and it looked like there were a good number on the lamposts on the road where his shop is.

We are not supposed to have any national pride anymore.

Very true Willow…..Nothing is said about St Patrick’s Day or St David’s Day. Is it just the English that are frowned upon for wanting to celebrate their cultural/religious beliefs? I feel a recurring theme coming on!

Re: Make St'George's Day a Bank holiday!

I was driving through Inskip earlier this evening and I saw at least five large Flags of St George and two Union Flags flying......at least four where flying on proper white poles in the front gardens.

It was a excellent sight.............

IT MAKES ME SICK

certain other religions can place certain symbols and their natinal flag on certain buildings and noone blinks an eye (in a pc way for the sake of being called a racist)...we put up our national flag to celebrate our patron saint and we get told to take them down ....well i say ....BO****KS to them ...im flying my flag with pride ...
