Many thanks Folks!!
Due to family bereavements I took up geneology this year, and found myself on this site trying to locate "relatives" whom I did not know for sure existed. My great uncle had died in Accrington, I found out, in 1952. However his death was registered in Haslingden which i had never heard of. On going on Line I found it was closed and moved to Accrington, which I had hard of.
Eventakllt through help from readers of the site I got pictures of the house he stayed in, and details of his partner. Sadly by the time I was looking she too was dead, in contrast to his 35, she was 93. I then found out she had a family and got in touch for information. Thanks to the gererosity of Accy readers I turned the clock back to the 1940's, and for a man in Scotland in his 40's that was no mean feet! Many thanks. |
