Marie Celeste?
This sounds just like the well known story of the Marie Celeste, very odd. Perhaps this time through the use of modern technology they'll be able to find the crew.

Re: Marie Celeste?
Very strange. By the sounds of it, because the sail was badly shredded, it sounds like a wave or wind has come along. Maybe a freak one that didn't give them time to get on their lifejackets on. Or maybe they escaped in a dhingy?? Theres too many explanations. Heres hoping the crew are found safe and well.

Re: Marie Celeste?
How very strange. It may be possible that the crew went scuba diving or snorkelling and got caught in a rip, eaten by sharks, stung by box jellyfish or one of the trillion other mishaps that can befall a person sailing off the Queensland coast.

Architeuthis running off with a snack seems a bit far fetch though plausible. Maybe it was how the table was set started an argument with the result of em becoming a quick bite for a Carcharodon carcharias . Who knows it might be something so innocent as it is possible for it to be sinister. In those waters any person who is not prepared wouldnt last long and become fish food.

But why would you all make a meal, turn all your equipment on- laptop etc then go swimming- definately odd. Also hope they are found well but must be a million to one chance now.
If it was freak wave sufficient to overboard three people wouldnt there have been signs of this turmoil inside?

Re: Marie Celeste?
According to today's paper the 'Marie Celeste' was, in fact, the 'Mary Celeste' and was renamed 'Marie Celeste' by Arthur Conan Doyle. He also added other detail, now taken to be true, such as the discovery of warm food.
