The observer review was mostly positive which me & the team at Coffee Beanz are actually very proud of & it shows our hard work seems to be paying off. However, before suggesting it was in some way biased please note that there are a couple of negatives so if it was in fact biased, i would have preferred no negatives at all. lol.
If nobody really pays any attention to this then it will be my last post. There is no point fighting a losing battle on here, especially when it seems most of you have already made your judgements about me before meeting me, or even knowing me. So I hope this makes a difference.

Congratulations on your first post outside of your 'advertising thread',
http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/f...all-54903.html
what a shame that it has the threat of being your last, you haven't given us much of a chance have you?
I've just re-read that thread and I thought the majority of posts were from well wishers. May I also take this chance to wish you luck with your venture.
As for references to your Father, try not to let it effect you too much in judging us, I for one don't intend to let it affect me in judging you, that will depend on how well you do in your posts on here, though looking at the above, I would say that they can only improve.
Once more I will wish you well both with your new Business and your new membership here on accyweb, may they both grow equal to the efforts you put in to them.

My mistake, it was the 10th September and 24th September editions. Since Peter Britcliffe somehow manages to get his own quotes in almost every story in that august weekly publication I'd say that the chances for a balanced report are very slim.
However, anyone with half an eye on the Market Hall ball would be aware that the Labour and Independent councillors are unanimously against six-day trading. It is not going to work. You may have chosen to be unaware of our stance but all the stallholders know that we are on their side and are fighting their cause from within HBC. At the end of the day those are the people who really count in this pitiful situation.
I'll be investigating how much the advertising leaflet cost and it also seems a huge coincidence that his son's coffee stall gets a glowing review in the same edition that is trying to quash stories of the Market Hall failing. I don't wish ill fortune of Coffeebeanz, but there has been a maximum of two customers sitting there every time I have been in the Market Hall compared with packed seats in the two cafes immediately below.
Six days will not solve that, I'm afraid.

No problem with mistaken dates . I forget the day of the week many a time .
But Observer 24/9/20 page 4 says that Cllr David Mason of the Independents in Hyndburn group said that the six-day trading "experiment" was worthwhile and argued that the town centre must start competing .

Dave Mason is a level-headed councillor and seems to weigh up the pros and cons of most situations. Bear in mind that whatever quotes are given to the paper will be cited in a way that suits the article so that may just have been part of what he said.
Some people would agree that pushing the traders the extra mile to open six days is good for Accrington. I'm afraid I don't.
Cllr Ken Moss of Rishton said earlier today, 'Some people would agree that pushing the traders the extra mile to open six days is good for Accrington.'
I could've just provided a balanced quote there, even though it doesn't actually say what I believe to be true because it is out of context.

I notice according to a leaflet in the Obbo', we are going to be treated to 'cookery demonstrations', by celebrity chef Aldo Zilli, (Who?), pardon my ignorance, he doesn't run one of the take aways near me.
Could I just set him a challenge? After all it shouldn't be too difficult he won't have to walk far, JUST USE INGREDIENTS YOU FIND IN THE MARKET HALL, ON THE DAY, don't give us 'owt fancy.

So it's not the little slap head from Benny Hill?
How disappointing.
I think I'll stay in and boil my trotters....that I'll buy on Tuesday.

Re: Market Hall Refurbishment
Well today's the day, I actually ventured into Accrington and had a look in the market hall.
First thing I wanted was a pair of shoes but the shop has packed up. next thing was a tea cake, no luck. Then I went into the card shop but they didn't have one for twins Christening. The place seemed busy though, mind you it is Saturday.
Not over impressed with the new setup I decided to go out onto Church street for a plate of chips from Church Street Chippy, I left via the nearest door which is almost opposite Church street and next to the two cafe, I say left but actually I went out head first and was lucky that someone managed to stop me falling on the floor. There is a bit of a ledge or something right in the door way and I tripped on it. I wish I had have fallen really as I had two young lady witnesses behind me.
Anyway that's my experience of the market and I doubt if I will go into Accrington for a while now so my trade is no worth bothering about.
By the way I had a pair of good shoes on so they didn't make me trip and it was before the sun had gone over the yard arm so I was sober.

Re: Market Hall Refurbishment
Please don't discuss posts that have been removed on thread. If you have a problem with any moderation please PM me or one of the other mods.
I removed the thread in question because the thread starter admitted he only started it as advertisment for his business which is against the rules.
The posts in this thread that have been removed were mainly off thread and discussing the other one.
I would also like to state that no one holds any influence over what can or can not be posted on this site as was implied in a post I removed. We try to be unbiased and impartial.
