She must have girded her loins, put her back into it, and ran like the wind.
Obvioulsy valued that prize rather highly.

Although I thought she might have been, I must say I'm rather glad she wasn't done up like Miss Havisham.
Her lovely muff would have been soaked in sweat.

Re: Market Hall Refurbishment
I thought the market was on half day closing on wednesdays anyway every time i have been in at 2pm most of the stalls had closed.
and the place was like a ghost town.
it really needs sorting out one way or another.

Go and take a better photograph.
Someone might have knit them.
It could be art.

Re: Market Hall Refurbishment
Is 6-day opening dead then? Walked through there this afternoon and only saw 2 stalls open, Fruit and Veg and one other on the far side.
The town was very quiet, only place I saw anything approaching a crowd was outside the Post Office - a few drunks and a few more loud, foul mouthed yobs, and no sexism here.

Re: Market Hall Refurbishment
There's a vote on it Barrie, think votes by traders have to be in by last day of this month

regardless of any views on Accrington town centre think you will find nationally it's traditionally the quietest week of the year for retail. For many people first payday since Christmas is the end of this week

Strange, last I read from Economic Ken the traders vote idea had been pushed out of sight?
Have I missed a thread?

No, you haven't. Economic Ken indeed....
Sorry Jaysay but I was defeated at council, there's no vote for the traders, much as I would have hoped for one. The Conservatives were so sure that the traders wanted 6-day trading that they refused to let them say so democratically.
I've taken it as clear evidence of them not being entirely transparent with us.
