Re: Market Hall Refurbishment

It's not a matter of who's changed the most, they've all changed to try & reap the benefits. At one point a party would make a policy endex, no ifs or buts that is it we will not waver !

Now, well we'll take that & maybe add this to it, take that from it & come up with something that's neither fish nor fowl, they've sold out & taken the middle ground in the hope of appealing to a wider spectrum.

Look at the modern crop of Politicians, their parties & policies, so much is a dilution and/or an absorption of another parties policies that they are all readily interchangeable with each other. The exception being those old Dinosaurs pushed to the outer edges of their chosen gangs comfortable little community because they're unhappy with the way their party has capitulated & accepted mediocrity in their politics & precepts.

That's the problem , Jaysay , the Labour Party are finding it hard to come up with a new philosophy now that they are totally behind Capitalism . Tony Blair played with words when he retained the word Socialist after scrapping Clause 4 .

They are suffering from an identity crisis and haven't a clue in which direction to go .

Hence we get such in-depth discussions like Council Meeting Butties .

The Labour Party isn't unilateralist now. It was at one time of course.

I don't think it was Marx or Engels that arrived at the economic truth that 'If you look after the pennies, the pounds look after themselves'.

It was probably some wise and successful housekeeper, facing savage cuts.

When you hear the siren Lancsdave, run like hell to the balcony in the Market Hall.

It's a protected area.

It's the only way you'll survive the fallout.

Quite an art form.

Now Knitty Nora's residency in the Market Hall has ended, perhaps we should apply for funding for them to take her place.

Care in the community art.

Apologies,I read your post wrong. I read it as if you meant unilateral as in no nuclear weapons. Although it could be said trident is linked to American capabilities. So I suppose it's not truly unilateral in that sense.

There are lots of threads, crying over loss of karma, in other sections of the forum.

Let's try and keep to the subject of this thread, at least marginally.
