Mass murder in Norway
Rather sad day yesterday in Norway.
Seems that the murderer is a far right extremist.
Wonder if that would happen here?
To be honest, I am lost for words on this senseless massacre.

Re: Mass murder in Norway
Looks like the bloke was a lone gun in all this, really difficult to legislate for that kind of nutter. ( I did say to my daughter last night when the news was coming thru that it didn't sound like Al Qaeeda and more likely to be some neo-nazi ). he's obviously planned it well and the disguise was a winner. My sympathies to the Norwegian people , it's sick.

Re: Mass murder in Norway
There's not really much one can say; there's a limit to what mere words can express ... however many times this is commented on, debated, condemned, analysed, it will still hover around the edges of "incomprehensible." The killer looks like, well, ... normal, even ordinary: "the banality of evil."

Re: Mass murder in Norway
The BBC's coverage has been crap, I watched breakfast news yesterday morning and they had a 20 second clip of film which was being played on a loop, they were still using it this morning, its a bit like when any terrorist activity is mentioned they bring out the Tavistock Square photos of that bus, better to stick to dialog and just report the facts rather than keep repeating dated backdrop material

Hey, if you think that the British Broadcorping Castration was "crap", catch this one. Our local rag, "The Kingston Whig-Standard" printed an editorial by one of its "toriest" (mmm, I have to think about that one ) editors. They printed an editorial premised on a belief that it had been an attack by Islamic fundamentalists It must have been shortly after the paper hit the streets that it was announced that the perp was a home-grown NAZI.

I don't think people like him will ever be able to be stopped. They can waste there time banning guns but next time it would be an illegal weapon. If there were no such things as guns he could have used a crow bar.
If some nutter wants to randomly kill people you cant ever stop it.

Re: Mass murder in Norway
Have you seen Norways highest security prison? Its like a hotel. Can't help thinking they would have been better off saying he resisted arrest and killed him. I guess they wanted to find out if anyone else was involved.
I was also amazed how many people gathered together in one place to pay respects. No way I would have been there. Perfect target for a second killer to land a plane.
Who knows if he is a loner or if there is more to come yet.

I have no access to guns so when I flip my lid I plan driving through the Trafford Centre in a 4x4 seeing how many I can get.
You don't need guns to kill people.
