Re: Micro Chipping

I had both my cats done, and the chip was placed between their shoulders.

Re: Micro Chipping

Our Jack Russell was four when he was chipped and iīm sure it was the scruff of the neck. He needed it done for his PetsīPassport. It didnīt bother him but he hates vets anyway!

Heīs ten now and no-one has ever scanned it. Do they stay in the same place or move about after time?

It seems to work they found a Boxer that had been missing for ages presumed stolen, the dog is now reunited with it's 'family'.

Not always true. I took my two dogs to the vets tonight. one is 11 and having one or two problems, I have been giving him 1/2 aspirin and it seems to help. The vet said that they could do some blood tests and investigate under sedation, however she said that due to his age and the fact that he is otherwise very fit (for 11) she would advise just to carry on with 1/2 aspirin.

Both of them have been chipped and soon got over the initial pain (and sulks)

Re: Micro Chipping

It is just a pity dog chipping technology, has not advanced to the stage where the piles of muck that are left by lazy dog owners, cannot be traced back to said offenders.
This is a tongue in cheek reply, and not meant as a slight to the majority of responsible dog lovers.

Re: Micro Chipping

When I lost both my cats - due to the fact that I had had them micro-chipped I was fortunate to find out the fate of them. I would recommend to anyone that they get their dog or cat done.

Re: Micro Chipping

I've heard of a dog being scanned and the Microchip had moved from the neck down to the front leg,and as for the puppies trauma after recieving it,sounds like the vet was a bit rough. Also after innoculations it is normal for your dog to seem a bit withdrawn,as they tend to have some pain around the injection site for a day or so.
