Well, Mitt is history, which, in a way is a little sad. He was a moderate Republican who was destroyed by the extremists in his own party. Ironically, given that the emblem of the G.O.P. is an elephant, the Republicans lost because of what they forgot. They forgot that America isn't white any more. They forgot that we are now in the twenty-first century. They forgot that most uncommited voters don't buy the laissez-faire capitalist model that the Republicans trot out at every election. And they seem to have forgotten that women vote ... particularly single, well-educated, politically aware women. And believe it, these women are aware that in the very near future there will be a possible 4 vacancies on the US Supreme Court ... and if you know anything at all about US politics, and the nature and power of the Supreme Court, and if Roe vs Wade means anything at all to you, you will understand why these women voted for Obama. And Republicans also didn't take into account that Obama is whiter than Romney:
The marijuana vote in Washington and Colorado, an openly gay Senator, legalization of gay marriage in several states: I think that we are seeing a re-invention of America.
