So it's somewhat surprising to see the Tea Party completely overlooked by the Republicans when they came to select a candidate, and it is surprising too (although refreshing also) to see them make such a complete and total mess of their selection of candidate and his running mate.

Don't be surprised if Fox "News" supports Romney/Ryan. Looks like Murdoch is happy with Mittens's choice.

Re: Mitt Romney
Nice to see President Obama sending his congratulations to London on the success of the Olympic Games.
London 2012 closing ceremony: How capital took Olympics to its heart | Mail Online
As a true statesman, it is what we've come to expect.
Mitt Romney's message of apology, admitting that he was a million miles wide of the mark in criticising London's ability to host the Games, seems to have got lost in the post.
It wouldn't do for someone hoping to be elected President to be shown to be so hopelessly wrong, would it!
The more we see of him, the more we are coming to realise what a complete joke the man is!

Re: Mitt Romney
Yeah, but don't forget, plenty of God-fearin' WASPs daft enough to vote for him!

Re: Mitt Romney
Reagan was a joke but still got elected.. big money makes a lot of difference in the US elections but things maybe changing.. in the past the Republicans proclaimed sense of freedom and democracy did not take into account a large section of people who did not vote..all that changed when Obama got elected.

No mainstream politico here would dare suggest dismantling the NHS altogether, as they would face a storm of criticism. Cameron and Osbourne want to privatise parts of it just as Brown and Blair did before them with their PFIs etc. Both are wrong.

[quote=Wynonie Harris;1008964]Turns out Mitt's buddy has had a go at the concept of our NHS in the past. Healthcare's only for those who can afford it in his world !
It probably would have been a good idea for this clown Ryan to check out a few simple stats before he opened his gob. If he wishes to make a comparison of the US health care system with that of the UK, then where better to look than with his own CIA. Here is the page comparing relative life expectancy for the US with other countries. Look at the US figure, see where it is in the table, then check out the UK.

Re: Mitt Romney
Medical error is 3rd in the list of causes of death
Medical care is the 3rd leading cause of death in the U.S.
As well as that -
..all mains water is fluoridated (damages pineal gland)
.. GM (frankenstein) food is commonly consumed

Why let the facts get in the way of political bigotry?
He believes that the kind of "socialised healthcare" we have in Britain jeopardises future tax cuts.
It is such a naive argument that you have to read it twice to believe that's what he's actually saying. What good are tax cuts if you are dead?
Universal health care is something we concluded was central to any civilised society over 60 years ago. It's unbelievable that anyone is still having the discussion. Cameron and Osborne aren't arguing against universal health care. They just have strange ways of seeing how it can be provided.
