I understand what you are saying there - that if the choice is there before us then it's up to us what we choose to eat and if we make the wrong choices then on our own heads be it.

For someone to sit in front of the TV eating a take-away and blame the TV advertising for "making them want it" is a total cop-out and I'd agree with you wholeheartedly there.

Unfortunately, and I think this was where the government proposed changes to school menus came into it, a lot of children at school don't have healthy options to choose from. If junk is all that is on offer then junk is all they are going to end up eating which isn't good and I applaud the Government intervention to introduce healthier meals. Or should that be "re-introduce" as we used to have them in the olden days.

It's also good to see that McDonalds have introduced a range of "deli" sandwiches which are less than 3% fat. Now anyone who wishes to eat at McDonalds can't claim they don't have an alternative.
