More redundancies!

Eon (who used to be powergen and own homeserve, who used to be servowarm I think) have told all of thier heating installers that they are to be made redundant, not sure how many jobs this involves nationwide, but they stop installing completely by December, this is because they have tried to trade in a punishing environment, too cheaply in my opinion, some of thier installers are paid 36k a year too, the sums just dont work out, hence people lose thier jobs.

Saw a friend in Asda on Thursday Derekgas who's husband had come under the chop here .. seemingly he had your number already. Feel sure you are fully staffed, but assured her her husband would be treated with respect if he happened to ring you.

Would have thought, with people sticking tight and extending their house, due to the estate market, that business could have increased ... Although 'tis sad when companies decrease their prices too much to compete and, therefore, reduces their profits below operating levels ..never seems to work somehow.

Re: More redundancies!

You are quite right Katex, your friends husband came to see me, and also mentioned your good self (nearly threw him out at that point ), I have been absolutely straight with him, he is a nice lad, well qualified, and agrees with the way I operate which is always a good thing! I have explained that, given the current climate, it is difficult to say whether a job will be available or not, if I lose any engineers or (as expected), we get very busy in winter, there is almost certainly a position available when his redundancy falls!
