This takes some beating in my book. All about how much cash they can get.

Re: Motorists be warned!!

I saw that on the news last night. The photo on the site doesn't show how bad it really was.

I saw it on the TV news.

However, he is demanding that the council reimburses the cost of the damage to his vehicle caused by the work which was carried out by a private contractor.

He said: "The council has agreed that the ticket was processed in error but they are refusing to budge on the tyre damage."
If I was him I'd stick to my guns and sue them.

Re: Motorists be warned!!

I can't see how much damaged you could do to a tyre with yellow paint though.

Re: Motorists be warned!!

That "paint" is put down hot isn't it? It is when I've seen it being done and there was very little space that wasn't covered so it may have touched the tyres in order to get that close and done something to perish the rubber. Did you see what the garage said about those tyres?

Re: Motorists be warned!!

How long before Hyndburn try the same trick? To think that if they had a trolly jack a steady hand and a bit of patience they could have don it properly. What got me was that if there had been no camera evidence they would have got away with it. Add to that the TW hung around for a "collar" shows desperation.

Thumbs down Re: Motorists be warned!!

I can’t remember where I saw this recently but it was reported that a guy who had just come off his scooter had a ticket placed on his machine as it and he lay injured in the road. It was also reported that one guy got a ticket whilst stationary in traffic waiting for the flow to continue.

Re: Motorists be warned!!

That was on a tv program about traffic wardens jambutty, I can remember that. He was in the back of the ambulance I think, the bike was on the road,on it's side over the double yellows, the car that hit it was there also but didn't get a ticket.
If it was a police car parked on double yellows outside a police station it would be very different, or a speed cam van.
