That's because its hearsay. Either way we know full well that the 1922 committee tried to push this through, so the Conservatives are as wrong as Labour were. Just didn't get to see which way people would have voted. I imagine wastes will be found on both sides of the house when they are eventually revealed. What I hope is that publishing them will encourage waste to never happen again.

Come off it, they'll never be revealed. Harman and her cronies will find fresh obstacles to put in the way of full publication of expenses. The freeloading and pure greed that would be revealed on both sides of the House if they were would be a national scandal!

This is true Andrew, but in most companies there are lots of directors, and wouldn't do to have each one scrutinising every Mars bar you bought or mile you traveled.
As the MP's employees, the public amounts to millions .. can you just imagine all the queries that would crop up with our questions. Think we just have to trust the people delegated to keep an eye on their spending.

If the parliamentary expenses were published in full, by that I don't mead travel, which would be a nightmare, people wouldn't need to to ask questions it would be there for everybody to see for themselves

Can see that side of it too Jaysay, but as you have probably attended lots of Annual General Meetings of groups at any time .. members always query the tiny spendings, like postage, etc. The main interrogative being 'Why ?'

Side lining and having a pop, when the full post actually makes the hearsay joke irrelevant because I criticise both sides. "Typical"

That kind of thing coud be split up kate, its just the travel costs which would be a nightmare, because they get travell warrents to use on the train, plane and buses, pluse a milage allowance for there car if they drive

Don't think that that's an issue magpie, most MPs who live miles away from the capital have accommodation near or close to the commons, they get an allowance for that, so very few would use hotels during there parliamentary work
