Mummy stop drinking
Catch Up | ITV
Who watched the tv programme last night - Mummy stop drinking on itv at 8pm?
Ive just watched it and you dont realise do you how much you drink until its put in front of you. Thats what happened to them. They opened a bottle of wine to unwind after the kids had gone to bed, had a couple of glasses out of it well one of them knocked back the whole bottle a night, and then put it in the fridge and the next nite finished it off.
It was interesting to watch.
How many of you have a drink to unwind after work or after the kids go to bed? Id watch this if you havent done already.
Me even though i have booze in the house i dont drink it that often. The last time i had an alcoholic drink was new years eve - time before that i think it was last may. But even before i wasnt drinking i never used to drink in the house. Mum never drank in the house only if it was xmas or if we had a party. Otherwise it was tea all the way. My sisters are different they dont think nothing of drinking a glass of wine in the house.

I watched it shillelagh, it was very interesting. Being a wine drinker myself I'm glad it wasn't about Dads or I would have been up the creek without a paddle

Re: Mummy stop drinking
They knew they were drinking a lot but until it was set out in front of them how much they drank over a week compared to what they should be drinking it gave them a shock. Dont forget though Jaysay that your kids see you drinking as well and them couple of glasses of wine a night all adds up.

After finishing off a night on the pop, at the May Accy Web meet, with a half pint of Absinthe, I'm suprised you allow booze in the house at all.

Re: Mummy stop drinking
Used to have a glass or 2 ( or even the full bottle of wine ) when I was working. Yes, I did feel at the time that it HELPED me to un-wind. I think it's just a habit that you get into.
I don't drink in the house now. Not saying that I wouldn't ( if I had friends round ) The last time I had a drink in the house was Christmas, and I don't go out much, so not much drinking these days lol.

Re: Mummy stop drinking
Gotta' admit Shill, did make me feel guilty watching it, as I sat there eating my tea, and already on me 3rd glass of wine ! .. was determined not to drink much during the week after that report, but here I am ... glass of wine in front of me. I am sipping it gently to try and make it last longer .. so maybe some hope for me.
I think it is just a habit .. who knows ? Maybe I have joined the Alcoholics of this world and need help.
OK .. "I AM AN ALCOHOLIC" .. isn't that how you start. ? Not really taking the Micky .. know a serious subject.

She was worse after you left cashy when we came up with an idea that a few people on here would kill us for ........true slinks? It nearly went in a thread but thought we'd get banned for sure for it - even in the over 18s.

It was a good night that.
So what if you had a three month hangover, we had a good time.

Re: Mummy stop drinking
It might be my age but I’m not sure if I’m following this one. If it’s as I thought i.e. personal consumption over the course of a week then I have to say I might be drinking two much. This last five days I’ve had 2 bottles of Jacobs Creek Merlot, 2 bottles of Guinness and half a bottle of Southern Comfort.
I have had a problem with excess in the past but didn’t feel that I was drinking that much, I can remember doing 2 bottles of Red a night not so long ago and in my youth when working for Trust House and EMI we started on the first day of work and didn’t stop for the season easily drink 10 or 12 pints in a 16 hour working day, funny I don’t ever remember feel ****ed. Today I can be yours for a good bottle of Port. (That was said in humour, I don’t want half a dozen dingles rushing at my door waving bottles of cheap Ruby and pots of Vaseline)
