New Subway store!!!!

I've heard there is a new Subway store coming to Accy town centre.
Any one know where its going to be.
Who's not tried a subway yet? Whats your favourite, mines a Ranch.

I can't wait. I love subway, all we need next is a starbucks.

Apparently it will be on Union Street (the one wioth kwicksave on). Anyone know when its gonna be opening? I heard about it a few months back now...

I hate all these chains with a passion.
What we really need is to get some decent shops back in; I was working around Clitheroe a couple of weeks ago & it's so refreshing not to see Poundlands & phone shops & more chuffing phone shops all over the place! Proper antique shops, materials, arts shops, record shops - you know what I mean. Quirky stuff.
It's the quirkiness that is going to attract people to this town not pretending to be a mini-Manchester & actually coming across as a skanky little wannabe town full of drunks & kids with ASBO'S.

i agree whats going on here ?? i grew up over there and was there till untill a few years back .. i used to so love shopping round accrington was a weekly ritual my mum and me in town each sat ..then came along the arndale ..well that lasted didnt it ?was lovely at first then shopkeepers couldnt afford rents then the last time i was there about 2 yrs ago there was nothing but pound shops and no character accy used to be something to be proud of and then you get an up and coming council that dosent give a damn about what the people want.. must admit blackpool isnt much better ..

No-way can I imgine anyone in Accrington ordering a Double Ristretto Venti Nonfat Organic Chocolate Brownie Cappuccino Extra Hot with Foam and Whipped Cream Upside Down Double Blended .

Subway at least they make it there and then for you.

I can agree with shakermaker and the rest of you with some aspects, but I don't believe food stores like them have a negative impact like places like poundland do..

Maybe if they brought down the rent and rates ... more local people would be interested in opening up a shop...
However its got to be better than empty shops....

The thing is that if groups like Subway and Starbucks come to Accrington it will indicate that there is some investment going into the area. This will instill confidence and encourage smaller, quirky stores to come back to the town.

We can hope!

Be nice if we had a good book store ... and a Next would be fine ( bit too old now for River Island ) Warner Street could and should be made into a specialist street.... there are some great shops on there: but again its the Rent and the Rates that put locals off... how about a discount for local people, trying to start up: just a thought....yone

Mmmmmmm Accrington is a poundshop & fast food town

not exactly going to bring any reasonable decent kind of retailing to the town is it?? altho i notice that we do have a cash converter in town now so suppose a little improvement of a well known outlet, could do with more like that.

its decent enough. makes a break from the fast food stuff...
