Re: New year, why now?

Not quite sure what calendar the Romans were using at the time, but the Jews who were of course the people that Jesus belonged to would count the years using the Moon (I forget what name is given to this method). This is also the reason Easter is at a different time every year as it always is follows the Jewish heast of the Passover!

Why don't you know?

You are a Theologian.

If you did know, would they let you be a vicar then?

Hmm, I suppose I should now but it is not really my area.

As for being a vicar I am of the wrong denomination. In any case the idea of being a man of the cloth scares the hell out of me!

Re: New year, why now?

Well ok we'll let you off from taking cloth, but when does the Christian calendar start, with the birth or death, and doesn't that leave a thirty odd year gap?

No good answer and I'm afraid you'll have to take this year again.

Thanks Acidic-babs.

I knew I could rely on you, as one who has kissed the Papal ring.

Happy Lady Day, New Year or whatever.

Cheekiness aside, it looks an interesting site, l shall now go and read it properly.

Thank you.
