Re: night shift
I am working the night shift at the moment. Tonight will be my 7th night on duty and as stuffy as it is at night, you have no idea how bloody hot it is during the day. Good sleep is impossible during the day in this weather. I frequently wake up dripping wet (and not through bladder accidents ). If I open the windows not only does it seem hotter but the screams, shouts and loud music from neighbours and kids keeps me wide awake all day.
Think yourselves lucky that you are not on the night shift. I finish mine in the morning, I am so tired that I can't envisage surviving the night but......I am soooooo looking forward to a decent nights sleep, stuffy or not, it will be nowhere near as bad as during the day..

Re: night shift
Then there's the constant noise made worse by having the windows open.

Re: night shift
Oh I like nightshifts and find it easier to sleep during the day providing I have ear plugs in.

Re: night shift
I can't do ear plugs. They make the inside of my ears sweat and I find them uncomfortable. I'm on my nights off now but it is taking me a little while to get into day mode..

Its either old age or it was the result of a late night tiff with a femme fetalle.

Re: night shift
Well when I'm on my nights and trying to sleep through the day I used to struggle like mad with daylight coming through thin curtains but since I put a black roller blind in I find that I can sleep a bit better.
With it being so warm though I also have to have a fan blowing so that I can keep window closed. During the week is not too bad (although school hols just started lol) and I find weeekends the worse when people are out mowing etc.
