Re: no payout

Ok, I know that some of you are no doubt going to go off on one at me for this but itsnt this a hazard of the job? People go eyes open into jobs / professions like these, do they not expect things like this can happen?? I know its not nice when it does happen though but surely they are well aware that something like this can happen and will happen to an unfortunate few

Yes, I do have sympathy for them before I get called a heartless cow but it seems that everyone is claiming compensation for one this or another happening at work and I dont think its right

Your right everyone is jumping on the compensation bandwagon these days but this guy was put in the place he was when he got injured by virtue of his job, I cant imagine why else he would have been in the ambulance! So surely h e is entitled to compensation?

Sorry, will hold my hand up, missed that bit so slightly different scenario, think i was generalising rather than just going on this individual case so will admit im wrong on this one, maybe he does deserve something for what happened

If Mr Llewelyn had been injured after 2005 he would have been able to claim up to £285,000 from the Armed Forces Compensation scheme.

Under the old CICO, soldiers can be awarded up to £500,000.
It seems he comes under neither according to the MOD so he gets nothing.

Re: no payout

I think the gauling thing about this is this chap was doing his duty, yet an ex-soldier, who had a sex change operation, gets Hundreds of thousands of pounds for hurt feeling, there is something very wrong with the system somewhere along the line
