I get the feeling you doubt what I am saying, from what evidence we have been able to gather is that we lost work to another site in the company hense jobs lost. 2 weeks later hey presto new orders hense the need for new workers, old jobs gone new positions with different titles but really the same jobs as the old ones, do you follow me?
This is the punchline the site that we lost the original jobs to also made employees redundant because of lost business and yes you've guessed it was the new business that we have now got. So work has been swapped around the company and over 100 UK workers have been replaced by Poles now working for less cash.
Still think its good business Shaker?

I'n not doubting you old Puss, I just honestly want to know how employers are getting away with it.
Surely if they are acting illegally, they could/should be prosecuted?

Re: Question for the Mods
They should be prosecuted but the Polish workers are probably happy with the low wages and don't even consider that they are part of a raw deal.

Financially speaking, yes. The business' aim is to make as much profit as possible. Of course making a lot of profit doesn't justify treating people wrongly but businesses will always bend rules & regs to make more money.

Employers get away with allsorts because employees know they can be replaced cheaply with eastern europeans if the kick up a fuss. Even though we know what is happening I don't think it would be enough to prosecute. Someone asked the question of why they where on less money only to be told it's the new training rate, but no answer except it's none of your business came when asked how long they stay on it.

I know of one company who pay them the correct wage but as part of the contract of employment they also house them. They charge them ridicolous rents and exhorbitant amounts for electric and gas. Nothing illegal but totally immoral.

Not really I have one or two things festering that I need to get of my chest this subject of eastern europeans being one. Garinda was under the impression that I was hiding a dislike for the colour of peoples skin behind a hate of multiculturism this is not true I just want English people to come first in our country. Multiculturism is a cancer that we can't cure and this has now got worse by the recent influx of EE that we stupidly allowed in by being part of EU. What we need to do first is close the borders to anymore then send those that are here back, reclaim our country.

Re: Not Happy........ split thread.
Send back?
I presume you are only referring to recent immigrants or where do you propose to draw the line?

Willow I am not stupid enough to think that we could send back people who have been here for years, I am talking about the immigrants that have arrived since the eastern european countries where allowed to join the EU.

I never said that. I merely asked a question, to the forum in general, how employers are getting away with paying less than the minimum wage.

I've lost interest in searching for now but lets replace muslims for eastern europeans and say I've moved on for now, multicuturism or multi-racialism its all the same.

I thought we'd sorted this out ages ago. I admire your upfront point of view, though I don't necessarily share those same views.

...or should say when I forced you to stop talking in veiled riddles, and got you to say what you actually think. Which I once did.
