Re: oldest product in your kitchen cupboard

I've just thrown some cous cous which was a couple of months out of date, I'm pretty good really the cupboards, fridge and freezer get regular checks.

Re: oldest product in your kitchen cupboard

Last time I sorted through the store cupboard I threw out tins and packets that were at least 10 years old. The worst was a packet of icing sugar dated 1990 - it was as solid as a house brick.

Re: oldest product in your kitchen cupboard

Oh hek Aleks .. even though I had a mass throw out couple of months hence, seem to have three items I put back in cupboards:-

Baking Powder (never bake now !) think may have saved for cleaning purposes, rusty tin .. no sell by date displayed.

Vanilla Essence ... yuk (never opened)... best before October '96 !

Almond Essence ... another yuk .. again no sell by date, but manufacturer General Foods in Banbury, which I think was taken over around 1988 by Kraft !

I feel duly ashamed ... now in the bin.. !
