Definitely. £400,000 is a rip-off, whatever the quality of the finished product.

Let's face it, the Olympic committee is there for the taking. They even "forgot" to allow for the 17.5% VAT rate on construction work. No wonder the costs are spiralling out of control.

Re: Olympic Logo

They should have got Damian Hirst to do a diamond encrusted logo.

I don't know ... it looks kind of, like, symbolic of .... of what it means, to be ... like a metaphor for all that sport means ... in a sort of Londonish way. Or it harkens to past images, of what it might mean for the future, if there is one. Yes, I think that clears it up.

I also agree it's pretty lame (or should I say "nice"). However, if the public has too much of an outcry it'll give em an excuse to scrap it and spend 500,000 for a "really really good design"!

Re: Olympic Logo

It is barely recognisable as 2012 and the 'London' part is almost as if it's trying to be insignificant. As for the Olympic rings - aren't they supposed to be multicoloured for a reason?

Sorry Katex, I still think tis rubbish.

London 2012 Logo in under 8 minutes.

That's £952.38 per minute. I really need to go into logo design...

Re: Olympic Logo

Ah but you see someone had to be paid to do all the thinking to dream up such a naff design.

For sale at 50 million pounds, and the most expensive art work ever created.

Peanuts for the Olympic Committee though.
