What I didn't know was that each runner has their own torch, and the 'flame' passed on from runner to runner .... silly me.

They have the option of buying this themselves as a souvenir. Only £199.00 ... a snip ..
You've been reading Facebook too Kate £199 think if I was doing the job I'd pay that, will never get the chance again

Although not an Accyweb member I'm delighted to tell fellow Accywebbers that Anne, my good lady wife, will be carrying the torch on Saturday 23 June in Hyndburn. Anne was nominated for her long and valued service to Girls and Ladies Football in the locallity. Anne has been involved as a Player, Coach, Manager, Referee, various administrative roles within clubs particularly with Accrington Girls and Ladies FC.

As a family we are all very proud of her and a once in a lifetime event and I hope that fellow Accy webbers will give her a special cheer on 23 June

To be honest I think she thoroughly deserves the honour, she's heart and soul in the community and works tirelessly on lots of projects that she doesn't seem to get too much credit for although I don't think that will bother her at all

That's brilliant for your wife hedman, there are so many unsung heroes in our communities that do make a difference, hope she has a great day
