If that is true how do they freeze sperm and eggs in liquid nitrogen(-196 Centigrade) but still unfreeze them and they are alive and viable?

Think it's to do with our heads consisting of complex vegetable matter (some of us not so complex Mr B* ) Try freezing a tomato. It all turns to gooey mush when thawed out. Ice crystals form, vessels burst and fluids leak.
*Present company excepted !!

Re: opinions wanted
I want to explain my concept of death - it is in no way connected to any religion, but atheists who do not conceive that life is more than just physical will disagree with me. So be it.
A fear of death is prevalent in humans but not animals - their fear is of pain only because most species have no concept of what death is.
In order to remove fear of death, it helps to read anecdotal evidence from people who died and were resuscitated, and/or have had 'out of body experiences'
Losing the fear of death - Print 4 Half
You can accept that death of the physical body more readily if you are convinced that you have a spiritual body which is indestructible.
If your physical life is so painful that you contemplate ending it - beware that you might be prolonging your agony by guaranteeing you reincarnation/repetition of the agony you thought you were freeing yourself from. Pain and suffering are part of the experience of being in a physical body. Your spiritual body wanted the experience - so grin and bear it until your 'time is up'.
Some here will consider this a deluded hope - I think they will be pleasantly surprised.

Well from the above, should we also believe the fantastical stories of 'into body experiences', we read about from the looney tunes that claim to have been abducted and probed by aliens?

As one without religious belief and nothing to look forward to but the great void, a magisterial nothingness. I don't much like the idea of death Margaret but reckon it's mega egotistical to want to foist oneself on the universe forever.
And as my old mate Wandering Walter used to say " It's good manners to give up your place at the table for someone else when the time comes."

its amazing how these aliens always seem start with the arse in these people stories
im beginning to wonder if aliens have noses or even a sense of smell
its a long way to come just to look at someones arse infact it could be that their satnav has got a bit confused and taken them past their intended destination Uranus

I didn't expect I would get any more than this from Less
Less civility, Less empathy, I don't think he has a 'surplus' of anything worth having.

What on Earth makes you think your bull deserves anymore praise than my criticism of it does?
You talk bull, I reply to you in a similar fashion so that you and others of a similar ilk may just one day stop trying to make converts to your ridiculous beliefs.
As for the les' jokes, very tired and unoriginal. I would think there is more truth in a little boy being able to stick his finger in a 'Dyke', than any of your weird posts.

I don't 'do' religion either - an essential part of evolution of consciousness is loss of ego - the nearest 'religion' who consciously try to lose it are Zen Buddhists - we are all a fragment of a universal 'whole' consciousness using physical life to gain experience.

I don't seek to convert you - 'heaven' forbid (pun intended) that my spiritual body will ever meet yours in the afterlife - that would be 'purgatory'

Reincarnation (best avoided if poss) doesn't usually involve having two miserable lives consecutively - since I have had a hard time in this one I don't think so

Don't worry mags, you won't be upset because after death there is NOTHING.
You, I and everything else will be recycled into the stardust from whence we came, though if I'm wrong, you will be one of the first people I look for just so you can say, 'I told you so'.

Now, that does tug at my heart strings, the fact that you think you've had a hard time in this life.
Could this be why you so desperately cling to any alternative thought of existing being better for you?
I really do hope you get what you wish for, and soon.
Bless...
