Orange Order Hero Diamond Dan

Just seen this on SkyNews...

Orange Order Names New Cartoon Super Hero Diamond Dan In An Effort To Win Over Youngsters |Sky News|UK News

I dont know what anyone else thinks, ive had many an argument with people over this and I still cant get on board with any of them. To me, the catholics and the protestants are just as bad as each other (and im catholic)

Isnt this just another way of dividing communities? Something that makes protestant hate catholics and catholics hate protestants? Is it me or do they both just live for having the argument, but because its been going so long no one actually knows what the argument is any more?

'Diamond Dan will be the kind of person who offers his seat on a crowded bus to an elderly lady.'

I'm sure Catholic old ladies will be very pleased.

Perhaps if the otherside come up with a superhero of their own, they can knock seven bells out of each other in cyber space, rather than actually doing it for real.

I'm also a left-footer, but to me religion ceased to be the problem a long time ago, it went down to personal hatreds on both sides built up over generations, but at least on the face of it the two sides now seem to be able to talk to each other instead of trying to blow each others heads off, so there is light at the end of the tunnel

the orange order isnt about hating anybody, yes we may have some idiots in our ranks but you thats the norm these days .people say there isnt any british culture but this is what it is,british culture our ancestors culture. ive had generations of my family in the orange order and the masons why shouldnt we keep our heritage everybody else is allowed.im not a bigot im married to a catholic and have catholic friends who are celtic supporters. but im still proud of my scottish presbyterian heritage as they are in ulster ,the west of scotland and many other places round the world...im not ashamed and i dont know why anybody else should of their heritage even gordon brown has a covenanting heritage....ps

Re: Orange Order Hero Diamond Dan

I'm not - my grandfather was a grand master of the orange order, my cousins are all members of the orange order and some of them hold office in the orange order also members of the black order as well. My father was a member even when he came over here my uncles were all members. Just that i didnt think anyone on here would be bothered about it.
