Re: ossy library.

Oswaldtwistle library doesn't need a new look, it was fine how it was though it lacked any space to actually do any real reading in there.

It needs a better choice of books! They are so outdated and I'm sure that most of them haven't been taken out for years. The children's books section is brilliant but everything else is terrible.

I once went in and they didn't have a desk for me to study at except in the children's section. Accrington Library is by far much more useful and I often walk there from ossy so I can study with plenty of space and a bigger choice of books rather than attempt to find somewhere to sit in the ossy one!

Think it may have something to do with the fact that Accy library is just a tad bigger than Ossy

Oswaldtwistle library is just rubbish, that is the problem. It's nothing to do with size. Most of it's books are older than I am.

As I've said in another tread knowledge doesn't change nor does whats in a book either, if you look hard enough you may just find that a lot of information is written in books older than myself and I can give you 40 odd years

Re: ossy library.

You will find that the most of British library’s books are older than Jaysay. And that’s not rubbish

Re: ossy library.

Here's a photo, there's a couple in The Gallery but on the subject of libraries why cannot we donate books to the library instead of taking them to the charity shops?

.

They'd be inundated with people's old tat if they allowed donations of books.

Re: ossy library.

When I wanted to be rid of lots of books, I donated them to Merlin Court.
I think that many old folks homes will have some bookshelves in their communal areas.
Some old folks rarely go out and so find it difficult to get to the council run library.

Perhaps Blazey could write to Andrew Carnegie, and demand that his donation no longer satisfies her needs, and that it needs extending.
