Party Conference Season
The Party Conference Season is upon us again.
For the next three weeks, the news programmes will be full of all the narrow minded, self opinionated, bigoted loud mouths who consider their own narrow party view of the world is always the right thing for getting the country out of the mess it is in.
These are precisely the sort of people who shouldn't be given a platform in a balanced world. But I suppose that is the price we pay for democracy!

Re: Party Conference Season
Yep....it's all staged managed nonsense now - bland & boring. Even the locations for them are dismal - Birmingham and Liverpool. How pathetic is that? I'd rather watch the debates on the shopping channel than watch that lot and I'm quite sure that Garinda gets more political arguments in his 'Katie' magazine in five minutes reading than viewing a week of the party lackeys prostrating before their half-wit leaders.

The venues tend to be bland and boring.
It was better when they were held in seaside resorts like Blackpool, Eastbourne and Brighton, with pompous politicians frantically clinging to their toupees as they were being interviewed on the promenade in a force 9 gale.
Who can ever forget Neil Kinnock falling over in the sea during a photo op!

The look of embarrassment on his face was priceless! Yes, back to the seaside for them!

Re: Party Conference Season
I attended the Tory Party conference on numerous occasions, and believe politics was the last thing on my mind the whole time I was there, it was a matter of finding out who was putting on the best free do's and a well worked out plan how to take them all in so not as to miss any, usually made it into the conference hall for the leaders speech was in those days was on Friday afternoon them home for a rest over the weekend

Freeloader.
No wonder the politicans thought it was ok to have their snouts in the trough.
They were just aping their party activists.

too right, the only difference is I never made a red cent out of politics, and gave plenty of time to the cause, so a free glass of bubble or two once a years was well deserved in my book

You obviously sold your loyalty too cheaply, maybe you should have been more ambitious about which rascal you chose to work so hard for?
