mez i will have a do at cooking anything that has some meat on it,we wasnt put on this planet to eat grass! they put animals on it to do that.can you imagine...peacock done in a casserole dish with some swede and carrots a bit of parsley, cooked in half inch of water very slowly, when the dish is nearly dry pour over a nice full bodied red wine and cook for another hour or two so the bird soaks up some of that nice wine and serve with another bottle of red...beautifull......yes A-B we could do with a few more birds like that to brighten this borough up of ours.

there is not another person that does as much for the wild animals as me?If i saw a dead pheasant, hare, rabbitt, duck, goose, deer or ought else dead in the road i would stop and pick it up .......................... then cook it....................if you ask me about any wildlife of the british isles i would be able to tell you where to go and see it.because i like eating the stuff does not say i dont care about it,last wednesday was sat there watching two pairs of buzzards gliding on the thermals what a sight, then saw two hares boxing, phesants mating i could go on....and.on

Re: peacocks
I seem to recall a recipe for Peacock curry....after all, it is a native of South East Asia; the only problem is, if I remember, is that the recipe calls for the feet & brains to be chucked in to the pan as well. Still, that would make it Sweet & Sour, Soft & Chewy.
Where did you say this peacock was again? I would'nt mind a little culinary experiment....
Chopped peacock baked in green peppers with coconut, lemon grass and chilli sauce sounds interesting.

Re: peacocks
Hope you spotted the smillie there Staggers! Trust Tea to get in on this one;I can't imagine there would be much meat on a peacock anyway;bit like a duck I suspect. Now if you had it's mate to hand you may have more chance of a better, more substantial dish.

had wild duck on easter sunday thought to myself thats a bit big for one and chopped it in half, had it behind the bar while everyone was drooling on the other side,so i give the other half to a pensioner.Wish i had nt have done that because the only thing that should be eaten with duck is the other half.

That is correct Willow there are two of them, or were two of them, think their home is/was Rose Cottage. Shoot them...................you don't all mean that.......................do you?
Most enjoyable driving up to the golf course early at weekend, turning on to cross edge to be confronted by a peacock in the of middle of the road, shall I run it over, cause if it don't move soon i'm going to miss my Tee Time.

Bet the car owners aren't too happy with them though, seen one many a time stood on the roof of a car, imagine the damage claws like they have can do to a car roof!
