I hadn't seen it for quite a while until the other day. Used to see one or two on a regular basis.

Re: peacocks
I always wondered who it belonged too, I always thought it was the cottage on the opposite corner (on right going down towards the bends just after the junction) as there is some kind of aviary in his garden.
If they are he's birds fron "Rose cottage" he wont be bothered about the damage then will he, we are on the same guy aren't we? he has a scrap business in Accy

Could be correct on the cottage opposite, or even the one after the pub (on same side as pub, but they keeps dogs so ?) The scrap man, well I thought his son now ran the "yard". The peacock will rest it's head where ever

Re: peacocks
the bloke who did own the scap metal firm i know very well,he has moved and his son now owns the house, and i know dave(the ex owner) hated them, too noisy he told my dad who he plays golf with at green howarth and that they drive him mad so i know he didnt look after them.this peacock when it first arrived looked ill and battered with no feathers but now after my naighbours tlc for the past 10 months it looks superb strutting its stuff down the lane,me myself it can stay forever,ok it does make a racket but it dosnt bother us at all,its the oldys round the corner winging about it pointing and shaking there heads,a women came round to my naighbours house with the petition to get shut of the bird but after a few mins we found out she only lived here 4 weeks!!!! so how can you get so annoyed about this bird in only 4 weeks, they nothing else to winge about thats what.what next 6 foot posters and boards up on the lane saying kill the bird lol

The peacock has been there longer than her so how about getting up a petition against grumpy residents?

Re: peacocks
Perhaps the peacock could be trained in the same way that guide dogs are? lt could then win over the pensioners by doing odd jobs, collecting their pensions, light household chores etc.
The noise it makes could also be utilised as an early warning system for any undesiribles, selling pegs, double glazing etc.
