BBC NEWS | England | Manchester | Park hosts pensioners' play area

Now im too young to go and test it out so i will have to leave it to the older members of accyweb to go and have a look see.

From what i saw on the news though its gym equipment but for outside.

What a good idea.

They'll have to be careful they don't fall and break a hip though.

It looks like fun. Can we persuade PB to incorporate one in the Masterplan for Accy?

Isn't he trying to wash his hands a little from this.

Actually, I think it is great . am sure it will catch on, and we will be seeing them Nationwide soon. The equipment was not too dangerous and did not appear to entail a high risk threat of accidents ... roll on I say (no, not roll off).

Don't we have our priorities a little mixed up here? Taxpayers money has been thrown away on this caper, while at the same time far more taxpayers money is being used to pay for OAPs freebies on public transport throughout the country. Surely the simple and cost effective solution is to stop this ludicrous subsidy and make pensioners pay for their fares like everyone else, or walk and get the exercise they need without resort to costly gimmicks like this.

You are wicked Tealeaf, wait until you are drawing your pension (not that long to go anyway) and then you will be mumbling about paying all the Nat. Insurance all yer life..

It is good as it that encourage us Pensioners to take extra exercise, particularly of this type, because it does strengthen the bones, and therefore makes you less likely of fractures, therefore saving the NHS money. Get it ?
