Phone Ins

Anyone one remember Alan Beswick from Red Rose Radio or Scottie McClue from Century?
I know there are and where others but these two where my favourites, I used to listen most nights and sometimes ring in myself.
I had the pleasure of meeting Beswick when he was doing a charity event at what was the Richmond pub on Brown Street, Accrington now a doctors surgery, he was just as annoying in real life as he sounded on the radio.
Scottie McClue's show was even better he had some real characters phone in, Jimmy from Toxteth for example, you can still find McClue he's on Radio Clyde on Sundays and can be listened to on the net.

Ow do! I had listened to his show for many hours in the late 80’s. At the time it was brilliant.

Loved Alan Beswick. When l moved away to college, l still listened in Liverpool even though it was all static, and felt like l was listening to Radio Free Europe, behind enemy lines in WW2.

I used to listen to Alan Beswick,he was great at the time! but the radio lancs one with Fletcher Richardson was that bad it was good! Unlike Beswick dear old Fletch would'nt tell em to get off cos they were boring,so you'd get twenty minutes of someone talking about the pot holes in their street or how their Budgie was poorly!

Re: Phone Ins

Fletcher Richardson's radio phone- in was unintentionally hilarious. l saw him preach, he was a Methodist Minister, sadly his sermons were not half as entertaining.
