Re: Plane crash in Madrid
Airtravel is by far the safest way to travel, statistics do back that up, but who believes them?
Okay a flight crew, minimum 2 maybe 3 or more ( relief piolts, engineer etc) are highly trained and tested every 6 months, fail and your out. Medical every year same again.
The plane is inspected every flight by Engineers, then by the Pilots, how many of us do the same for our cars.
Everything and I mean everything has at least one back up system, my cars steering does not.
We have a Traffic Avoidance System, my car does not.
We also have a Grown Proximity Avoidance System, to help us not hitting the ground.
If as many people died in plane crashes in one month worldwide, as people do in cars in the UK we would not have an airline industry. The mere fact that it is reported is because it is a rare event.
Takeoff and Landing are the most dangerous parts of flight as you are slow, low and around other aircraft.
